He was president of Tri-Ess, a group for crossdressing men and their wives, and he talks about his relationships with his ex-wives. In this oral history interview, Mananzala discusses his background and initial forays into activism, his work with trans youth of color in New York City with FIERCE in the early to mid 2000s, the distinction between grassroots and mainstream queer and trans movements, and the lessons gleamed from FIERCE's structure, philosophy, and operations.
