Born in Veracruz, Mexico and raised in Veracruz and Chiapas, Bianey describes the transphobic violence that forced her to relocate to Tijuana at 14 and subsequently New York City. Bianey recounts her initial experiences as an undocumented, trans woman of color in New York including finding trans community and the transphobic and racist policing that resulted in her incarceration at Rikers Island. With her partner for more than 25 years, Vezina describes her work in lesbian communities in San Diego, her experiences with passing, coming out as trans after many years of living stealth.
