In this oral history interview, Deutsch describes moving from emergency medicine into LGBT-specific healthcare in response to a need she perceived for trans-competent healthcare and access to hormone therapy. \r\n\r\nDeutsch reflects on how and why the field of trans medicine has shifted in the last twenty years, moving towards an informed consent model.
