In the 1960s, Marlow moved from Chicago to New York, performing in bars around Greenwich Village. She was hired by Jewel Box Revue, a female impersonator company. She landed a modeling gig with Female Mimics, a trans tabloid spotlighting female impersonators. In 1967, Marlow was featured in the film The Queen, documenting a drag ball beauty pageant. In 1968, Marlow moved to West Berlin and was hired at a cabaret bar called Chez Nous.
